Search Yuba County Inmate Records

Yuba County inmate records start with the county jail roster, then branch into court, state, federal, and notification systems depending on where the person is held. A Yuba County jail roster search is most useful for recent bookings, active custody, and basic booking details. Other lookup channels matter when a booking is still being processed, a case has moved into court, a sentenced person has transferred, or the custody status involves another agency.

Yuba County Jail Roster Overview

The official current-custody lookup for Yuba County is the Citizen RIMS Incarcerated People search. The Yuba County Sheriff's Office uses Citizen RIMS, a Sun Ridge Systems platform, for public jail roster access. The roster is free, does not require a public login, and is the first place to check for people booked into or held by the Yuba County Jail.

The roster should be read as a current jail-custody tool, not as a complete criminal-history database. The Citizen RIMS configuration observed for Yuba County shows inmate records enabled, booking photos disabled, and public display generally requiring the booking to be complete. On May 31, 2026, the portal count endpoint returned 313 current records under default filters, but that is a point-in-time portal count rather than an annual population statistic.

The portal notice matters. Yuba County states that juvenile offender information and sensitive calls-for-service details are not provided, and the department does not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Arrest information is generated from records entered into the Sheriff's Records Management System and does not represent every arrest in the county. People shown in arrest records remain presumed innocent unless and until a court declares guilt or conviction.

The official Citizen RIMS roster source is shown below.

This screen is useful for live custody checks, but it does not replace a jail phone confirmation before travel, money deposits, or time-sensitive release planning.

Full Access Channel Chain

Use more than one channel when a search is urgent or when the roster result is missing. A new arrest may not appear until booking is complete, a released person may leave the current roster, and some custody statuses belong to court, state, federal, or immigration systems instead of the county jail.

How to Use the Yuba County Inmate Roster

Start with a broad search, then narrow it. Last name is usually the strongest first filter because first names, spelling, initials, and aliases can vary. Date filters are useful when the person was recently arrested or when several people share a similar name.

  1. Open the official Citizen RIMS Incarcerated People page for Yuba County.
  2. Enter a last name, then add a first name only if the result list is too broad.
  3. Use the Start and End date fields to narrow recent bookings by booking-date range.
  4. Review the visible result columns, including Booking #, Name, Booking Date, Arresting Agency, Arrest Location, Bail, and Status.
  5. Open or expand a result if the interface exposes a detail view. Public fields can include booking identifiers, demographic fields, charges, bail, and status.
  6. If no record appears, call the jail, check VINE, search the court portal, submit a NextRequest public-records request, or use CDCR, BOP, or ICE tools if another custody system may apply.

Yuba County Roster Search Fields

The Yuba County Citizen RIMS roster uses a compact search form. The observed options focus on booking date and name, with Show Options and Hide Options controls around the filter area. The result table supports sorting or visible columns for booking number, name, booking date, arresting agency, arrest location, bail, and status.

Field LabelTypeRequiredNotes
StartDate pickerOptional or unspecifiedFilters booking records by the beginning of a date range.
EndDate pickerOptional or unspecifiedFilters booking records by the end of a date range.
FirstTextOptional or unspecifiedFirst-name filter. Use with caution when spelling is uncertain.
LastTextOptional or unspecifiedLast-name filter. Usually the strongest first search term.

The live app uses infinite scroll behavior, and the API default filter observed in research used a limit of 30 and offset of 0. That means a broad search may require scrolling or refining rather than assuming the first screen is the full custody list.

What a Yuba County Inmate Profile Shows

Public roster fields are limited to jail and booking information that the Sheriff's Office makes available through Citizen RIMS. Booking photos are disabled in the current public configuration, and several sensitive identity fields were disabled or not observed in the public view.

Booking DateDate of booking into Yuba County Jail.
Arresting AgencyAgency associated with the arrest or booking record.

Date of birth, race, build or complexion, real address, housing unit, cell, pod, court date, warrant number, judge or magistrate, and projected release fields were not observed as public display fields in the research inventory. Treat missing fields as unavailable through the roster, not as proof that the information does not exist elsewhere.

County Jail, State Prison, Federal, and ICE Records

Yuba County Jail records are local jail records. They cover pretrial detainees, people awaiting sentencing, people serving county jail sentences, and some state contract or hold populations reported in BSCC data. They do not cover every person with a Yuba County criminal case after the person leaves jail custody.

The Bureau of Prisons locator is a separate federal tool, shown below.

The BOP locator searches federal custody by number or name and displays federal result fields such as register number, location, and release date.

Yuba County should not be described as having a current ICE detention facility. California DOJ's 2025 immigration detention report says the jail ended its ICE contract and stopped housing immigration detainees in February 2023. Older Yuba jail references can still appear in historical records, court materials, or older inspection files, so the ICE locator remains a fallback for immigration custody questions.

Booking and Intake in Yuba County

Yuba County does not publish a full booking-by-booking workflow, but official and high-authority local material describes the main stages. A local agency arrests or transports the person to Yuba County Jail when jail custody is required. The jail creates a booking record, processes identifying information, collects property, and completes initial health and classification review.

Grand Jury material described people entering the jail being screened and quarantined before placement during the inspected period. It also noted that belongings were collected and vacuum sealed, and that housing assignment considered security classification, court status, and health. The county jail page confirms that inmate classification is part of jail operations.

Public roster timing depends on booking completion. The Citizen RIMS configuration says bookings generally must be complete before they are displayed publicly. VINE is a separate notification path and Yuba County says it receives updated information every 15 minutes from the jail booking system.

Visitation Hours and Rules

The Yuba County visiting page says visiting is conducted daily, seven days a week. Inmates receive two visits per week, with one scheduled Saturday or Sunday. No more than three visitors may attend a visit, and the day and time are determined by the inmate's cell assignment. Visitors must register with the visiting clerk before the visiting period begins, and late arrivals are not guaranteed a full visit.

A March 10, 2026 board minute approved Amendment No. 3 to the master services agreement. Legal calls are provided at no cost to inmates or the Sheriff's Department under the 2020 material, while personal calls are charged per minute to inmates or payors.

The Yuba County Sheriff's Office app is available for iOS and Google Play. The app-store listings describe crime reporting, tip submission, interactive features, and public-safety news or information, and warn that the app is not for emergencies. A KCRA launch report from August 29, 2024 reported app features including inmate lookup, registered sex-offender tracking, tip submission, incident alerts, school resource officer contact, crime map, and community outreach information.

The official iOS app listing is shown below.
